Our national instructors combine elite athletic experience, professional ballroom training and a passion for inclusion. Together, they introduce dancers and studios across the country to the art of wheelchair ballroom dancing.

Meet the accomplished dancers and educators helping Dance Mobility grow across the United States.

Cheryl Angelelli

Co-Founder, Dance Mobility

Cheryl, a four-time Paralympic medalist and world-record holder in swimming, began ballroom dancing in 2014. She is the co-founder of Dance Mobility.

Cheryl and her professional dance partner, Tamerlan Gadirov, are the top-ranked Para Dance couple in the United States. They compete nationally and internationally and have won multiple awards for their show-stopping performances.

The pair also travel to dance studios across the country to establish Dance Mobility programs.

Tamerlan Gadirov

National Dance Director, Dance Mobility

Tamerlan began dancing in his native country of Azerbaijan at age 11. He moved to the United States in 2016 and is a professional ballroom dancer and owner of Fred Astaire Dance Studio in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

As Dance Mobility's National Dance Director, Tamerlan has represented both Azerbaijan and the United States in international Para Dance Sport competitions and has earned many awards throughout his career as a dancer and teacher.

Tamerlan and Cheryl travel across the country teaching wheelchair ballroom dancing to people with disabilities and training dance professionals in the art of adaptive ballroom instruction.
